Workshop #19 - Choka
The sun came today
to chase the moon from morning
prancing through the sky
with self important bright rays.
Eagerly shining,
playing hide and seek with clouds
subtly burning
worshippers of sunshine's heat.
Moon waits until night time
to guide nocturnal seekers.
Solid evening light,
she guides her children's hunt and
leads them on their way.
No danger comes from moonlight
Ethereal guide.
Solitary lunar pull,
without trickery.
Yet day always comes
Returning in the morning
To vanquish the moon
Bathing in red and gold light
The soft ground below
Where once the cool moonbeams played
But now is the time
For the light bearer to shine
Once more came the moon
To chase the sun from evening
Gliding through the sky
With her melancholy beams
Of soft, subdued light
Playing hide and seek with stars
Her cold light shining
As people worship the night
In the cycle without end
