Hypocrisy


Art imitates life
A trite and overused statement
But so true

I offer a television series,
SURVIVOR,
As my example

We as a society
Have way too often
Forsaken our brothers and sisters

We have forgotten
That nothing is as important
As our fellow humans

Today we honor deceit,
Dishonor, greed and selfishness
By calling it entertainment.

We happily reward
People who lie.
People who have zero concept of friendship.

And then we hold them up
To the world and say,
"Lo, worship them, for they are winners"

Bullshit.
They are losers.
And so are we

For honoring
That which is
Without honor.
