The Instance
We were us in an instant.
A wildfire, free and raging,
Unreal in its intensity.
Like a tornado spawned
In the skies over an endless prairie.
Nothing else existed
Or mattered.
We soared in the unfettered
Plane of our flight together.
It came at both of us
Like a blinding snow
At 70 miles per hour.
The hurricane that we were
To one another, whipping us
To a frenzy of emotion
In each other.
And then, so like the lightening
Crackling over a dark blue sea,
We were over.
Just another instant
In three lives.
