In October, I watch golden leaves float
Lazy escape from their summer home
Nimbly evading the shore and floating objects
Finding their rest to become the fodder for future growth
In January, ducks and geese walk on it
Taking a rest in their journey to southern breezes
They preen and dine and gather to avoid solo flight
A crystalline path leading to regeneration
In March, it reflects angry purple skies
It swells and surges, rushing and rising
Streaks of lightning mirror on its surface
Constantly in motion, it shows it's power unstoppable
In July, swirls and eddies welcome denizens
Two, four or more legged, all sharing its respite
Cool me, feed me, comfort me in thy motion
An endless journey to meet mother ocean, the beginning of all
