On a Road Well Met

Hello youthful sir, How stands your day and travels?
I am truly sorry to hear of your pitfalls in traversing these lands
If you wish to travel a spell with us we would hear more of this
And to pass the time we will pass along some tales of our own
Oh nay only truthful tales, though they may seem a bit tall
I would not let my Crew pull the wool over such a stalwart sort as you
Allow me to introduce myself to you I am Captain Fernando "the rover" Black
Captaining the infamous "Ship of Wyrd", a sturdy swift vessel of passage
Nay not a Pirate, more of a Privateer carting a crew of Rennies over the sea
Of course should we find rare sport along the way how could we not join in?
We've never started a fight, but we've always finished it in fine form
Remember the Privateer Guild's motto "It was sinking when I got there"
A good question, why would we be afoot upon a lonely trail between towns?
As it would happen my Master Gunner Winter "the bitch" Rose got hold of a new box of matches for her birthday.
A small thing you say, mayhaps but our gunner is trigger happy with abandon
Not only is she still patching the deck from her last game of cannon tic-tac-toe
But in her haste to fire the winning volley off the port side, sinking the other ship soundly she set fire to all the sails forward and aft down to a cinder
So here we walk to the nearest township said to have a fine Pub and canvas for sails to be made, while we judge the merits of this towns ale and lager
By the time we return to the ship Winter should have her patched and ready
But enough of a scruffy privateer and his crew, how come you to this path?
Unrequited love is it? Then truly we are well met as we have felt it's ache
If advice you seek we have it in great store in overflowing barrels of it
If you want an experienced hand you should talk to Hanna the Cabin Wench
She's forgotten more heartaches than most have in three life times
But if you have the energy to spare spend a while speaking to our apprentice cabin wench "and caretaker of all things Horse"
She goes by "Autumn "the thorn" Rose, as energetic a lass as you'll ever meet
I'm not saying she falls head over heels in love at the drop of a hat, but the crew has seen her through seven "loves" most crushing and powerful in just this past cycle of the moon. This is not being fickle, merely the ability of the young to constantly yearn for love and it's many attributes most exciting
But back to your broken heart lad, how did you get in this fix?
You say your young lass broke your heart and spurned your love.
Well that is truly a sorry state to be in lad but if you would permit a more experienced salt to give you a word or three of hard won advice
If your love be a true one such spurning by your love is a small obstacle usually bypassed with patience and original thinking
Seek out your loved one, bare your soul and your love for her openly, loudly
But take the time to ask her desires and needs that you may fulfill
And even harder Listen to these needs and where possible make them reality
Along these lines of Originality you might ask Phil "Y not I" our gunner
A finer judge of kilts you'll not find on these shores and Naughty Kitty founder
While he fishes another pond you'll find the lures much the same for your use
I see the gears are churning under your love lorn looks and I see our paths are soon to part. I can see you will seek the quickest passage.
So since our ship is bogged down might I suggest the "Sea Witch"
Captained by the finest Lass than any other you'll meet, she's a fine ship
Capt. Sylence "the Siren" Campbell floats a fierce and loyal crew
That as a smart sea going Captain I take great pains to meet only in Port
An even then I avoid letting our Master gunners meet at all
Winter would like nothing better than to pit her accuracy at cannon tic-tac-toe with Rowan "Bang Bang" Murphy the master gunner of the Sea Witch
With their excellent aim we would both be in dry dock for months
Take my advise and listen to and words of wisdom that Captain Campbell or her First Mate Laresh Hawkins choose to send you way
But try to keep any stupid or foolish comments to your self as you would find yourself keel hauled or walked over board to teach you the manners needed
Luck in the Shadows to you lad, may your search for love bloom in the moonlight and last a lifetime and further through your offspring
Oh and if the need for a rose or twelve arises just give a whistle
Our fine young Heathyre Feathyre is always afoot with a bloom to delight
The Wyrd Rose Girl of choice with not only the finest petals but of full flavored wit and charm to deliver them with the perfect flair and need
She's dug me out of a few fox holes in my time for which I am ever grateful
Well lad the pub opens in an hour and I am dry so let us part friends and my mates will raise their first round to your successful bliss Go with God
