One Way Glass

Sealed in a glass box for all to see
Put on display to the world at large
Anyone can enter upon their wish
Yet I am held there by an invisible force
Leashed to a standard most can't meet
Fenced into a place, pleasant but measured
Placed in a small pond rather than the large
Like a goldfish swimming in a fish tank
Meeting others placed in with me
Saddened at their removal where I can't go
Never able to pass this shear glass
So please enter, I entreat you all
Come into my space, my small world
Tell me of your travels and your desires
Tarry awhile to ease my loneliness and wanderlust
Your visit keeps my walls from closing in
The glass is always clear till you leave
When my tears will fog it with your going

Signs

I hear your name rustling in the dry Autumn leaves
Written in white wispy clouds of the early morning
Etched in the bottom of a quickly running riverbed
Embedded in the sandy beaches, Hidden Treasure
Seeing your face deep within ever roaring fire burning
Hear your peal of laughter with in every church bell rung
Your image haunts my waking moments without you
Any dream without you is a nightmare most ferocious
I've carved your name into trees, stone and my heart
Even seen your name writ upon a dewey spiders web
Evaporating into mist at the first touch of morning sun
Your elusive image abounds round every turn, corner
Hauntingly close but at the same moment miles distant
Reflected in a perfect soap bubble dancing in the air
Popping should I attempt to reach out and touch you
The fog horn on the coast gives warning of foul weather
Deep echoing, sob like sounds over your absence
Yet I know you'll be back soon raising expectations
But Damn it I want you in my arms never to leave

Opened

Is yours the name I hear whispered
Far above me in the rustling Fall leaves
Soft whispers Sylently inviting me
To more deeply enter these woods
Entering a sheltered clearing hidden
Simple, comfortable place of Peace
Calls to my heart in Sylent Entreat
The door opens as wide as my desire
Drawing me into your loving arms
Safe haven for both us and our Love

Play

Play it on flute, harp or lute
A merry little jig of Love
A simple tune to always remember
Telling the world how I feel
Of the Love that you do inspire
Oh to spend a life humming this tune
I'd gladly pay the piper all her due

Reflections

Look into my loving eyes, see yourself
Sober reflection of a passionate heart
Given you my heart, shared my soul
Accept these gifts without question
Timeless is my devotion to you
Death the only interruption of our love
And still I'll find a way to be there
I found you in Jersey, Heaven much easier

Entreaty

Truly you are fine company
A companion to spend a lifetime
Soft inviting arms hold my heart
Tender lips nuzzle at my nape
A young mare searching for sugar
Seeking that extra treat together
Gladly I return every kiss fully
Threefold and with exuberance
Truly you are my heart's desire

Yearn

I yearn for her safe return
Time passes at a snails pace
Meals no longer have any taste
Work is now even more menial
There is no such thing as play
The jokes just aren't funny now
Sad movies now unwatchable
Every starlet reminds of her
Phone ringing sets my heart racing
That moment of hope it's her
To at least hear her soft voice
A gentle whispering promise of later
To run my fingers through her tresses
Massaging the knots away from her neck
Peace settling in my soul with each touch
Opening my eyes to find you are now Home
Like the Cowardly Lion "I do believe!"
And it's in your heart that belief sits
