Making Our Own Way

When we are born we must learn to be.
To breath, to feed, to see.
We cry before we talk, we crawl before we walk.

We grow and are schooled then cast aside.
Yet we are taught but mere fragments of what we will need to survive.
To truly live we must strive.
Strive to never stop learning, exploring and yearning..

To truly be, we must close our eyes so that we may see, see our potential,
see our lives that exist beyond what we were told.
See that we are the writers of our destiny not just mere onlookers watching life unfold.
