The End Of A Chapter
Wishing for a way to show
Everything I have come to know
About love, life, and finding peace
But I keep it pent up inside
And attempt to run and hide
Seeking solace in my release
Walking on exhausted feet
On some long forgotten street
Looking for a sign and finding none
Echoing footfalls reflect my steps
Mocking my inevitable failure at my self-assigned test
Assuming I had lost when unknowingly I had won
The answer appears with bright neon lights
An obvious enemy to midnight blind sight
And no more obstacles for me to run through
In quiet reflection with palms to the ground
Taking in a breath of the life to which I’m bound
And end chapter one by beginning chapter two
