Life's Lease

Feeling like I've had enough

Trying to make it but it's too tough

Think I'll sit down and take a rest

I know I've failed, but I've done my best

Why can't I rewind or try it again

Go back to all the places I've been

The times I screwed up or just didn't try

Or acted irrationally or didn't ask why

My life is bankrupt and the rent is due

Only one thing I can think of to do

Hold out my arm and in my hand hold a knife

And in one swift motion take out another lease on life
