Being above average and making the grade
When you've worked for so long and all your dues are paid
And the masses look up to you in silent adoration
And for a split second your humanity's representation
And in searching yourself for a moment to match and compare
You find yourself seemingly empty, abandoned, and bare
And then it strikes you and a smile filters through
The one success that means everything to you
And while the noise filters down to hear of this great feat
This enormous event that no one else could beat
You open your lips and speak with your head held with pride
And state that your greatest triumph is that your still alive
