Speaking with the sea
I never know what's on your mind
or the uprising that casts your
soul into the dark.
You hide your feelings out of
forced habit,
never trusting them to me.
Sitting beside you,
arm in arm,
you offer me glances of your life.
I never know what to think,
So I asked the sea instead.....
She tells me you are shaken,
ravaged to the core
and all you have mistaken
is from those that came before.
Your heart, she whispers softly
with the crashing of her waves..
Is filled to bursting with love,
and yet echoes like the caves.
I asked her all I could,
when I spoke with mistress sea,
she nearly drowned me in salty tears,
hiding my agony from your eyes
That day I asked the ocean.
The day she cried with me.
