restless yet tired
sleep bleary eyes
blinded by the
harsh glow of
the monitor
the keyboard whispering
it's soft rat a tat tat
speaking to me
telling me to stay
just a few more emails
just a couple more minutes
sleep can come in a bit,
i just need to finish
vertigo starting to set in
the monitor seems a million miles away
blinking to clear my vision
i sigh softly and grudgingly go on
just a few more emails
just a couple more minutes
pushing my body beyond sleep
my mind slowly going fuzzy
yet still pushing my body to continue to work
