To begin with, I’d say one of the biggest pleasures I have in life is my music.  I love to play the piano and sing.   I have led music in church in times past and played for my own enjoyment since I was six years old.  My favorite music to listen to now is Jazz.  I especially love to hear live music.  Truly, I enjoy anything artistic as well, such as writing (imagine that!).   Other things I enjoy are camping, hiking, traveling and languages.    People would probably describe me as a person that genuinely loves life and loves people.

The greatest inspiration I have to write is the simple cries of my heart.   I have to say I am a person that feels things deeply.  Sometimes I feel things much more than I would wish to, in fact.  Writing is SO cleansing and helpful in healing the soul!  Somehow, I feel no greater pleasure than when I feel I have gotten something across in writing and am completely understood.  Communication is one of the most important things to me actually.

As long as I can remember I have loved writing.  Teachers, family and friends alike have always told me I had a gift for it.  My only problem was trusting in that gift within me for myself.

I definitely feel the stirring of my heart when I am silent.  A lot of my life has been alone, and this has been certainly good in allowing me to hear my inner voice.  And I am thankful for the creation around me also.  As it says in the Bible, “If (the people) become silent, the stones will cry out!”-  Luke 19:40.  I feel that, we who are created and given life by the “Creator” of all things, cannot help but have a natural desire also to “create”.  It is that part of us which is of the Divine, whatever you want to call it.

I love old, romantic sounding things!!!  Can’t help being a total hopeless romantic here.  I love everything from Shakespeare to Barrett Browning, to Robert Frost.   There are so many that have touched my heart with their words that I can’t begin to mention them!

I am excited to be a part of such a talented group of people here in the ShadowPoets!  Best of luck to all of you in all you do!
