FISHING FOR THOUGHTS

Fluid
As though impatient
Or perhaps disciplined with time.

Springtime spawning schools
Challenge rapid persistence.

It keeps cool
As I cast unto its belly
And feed upon its body
Like an unnoticed parasite.

And I gaze at the beauty
Reflecting on its wonder
Drifting in thought.
