Willard (meaning: English= resolute or brave, German= Bold, Resolute)

Never giving to the fray,
his path was straight and clear.
Temptation haunted along the way,
his courage excelled fear.

Focused on his final goal,
moving boldly forth.
When destination did appear,
his resolve proved it's worth.

Mother's story was no task,
it's one I often heard.
"Who was this man?" I proudly asked.
"Your Grandpa's name was Willard."
