My Good Friend

Oh, my good friend,
but what would I be,
without you by my side
to keep me company.

To share long drives in the country
and evenings at the show;
what I'd do without you
heaven only knows.

And sometimes you're not present,
it may be just as well.
Though brief moments we share apart,
in my heart you'll always dwell.

So, I say this with a sigh,
"Your loyalty amazes me".
Oh, my dear friend loneliness,
my only company.

Under The Bridge

My place of reflection
under the bridge
to seek the companion of it's shelter.

And share with it
my memories,
babbled and screamed,
of happiness

And of laughter and touch and smiles.
Seeds sewn in my heart
now harvested
and gone.

And my only soul food
is the bitter reality,
echoed back,
through my acoustic concrete companion,
of a painful truth
that I am
Lonely.
