Support the Shadow Poets Society

The Shadow Poets Society is, and will remain, entirely nonprofit. However, there are many operating costs that have been paid for out of pocket. As the Shadow Poets grow in number, so does the wish of the Staff to promote poets around the world. To many of the Shadow Poets poetry is something we are not willing to leave to the centuries before us. Poetry is an expression of ourselves, our souls, a personal artform that is hardly given the attention it deserves. To continue running this group, and upkeep the site we try to keep everything cost effective but the costs build with each project we undertake:

The operating costs include:

Web hosting
Domain registration
Web Page design costs

materials such as:

Magnets
Flyers
Bookmarks
Cardstock
Printer Ink
Lamination paper
Stamps
buttons and other promotional items

Anyone is welcome to donate to the operation costs of the Shadow Poets. We have set up various ways to donate that actually will not cost you anything! The following sites offer opportunities to donate to our group just by shopping online or collecting things:

www.igive.com - sign up here and do your shopping through their site. Many stores participate in igive's program including Dell, Barnes and Noble, Ebay, Best Buy, Checks unlimited, 1800flowers, and staples. You just need to register with them, choose Shadow Poets as your cause, then any time you buy something online, go to Igive first and click on the store links from their 'mall' New stores are added to their list frequently, so if one you shop at is not there, check back often, it may have been added. Nothing is added to the cost of your purchase, the participating stores have agreed to have a portion of each sale donated.

www.recyclenorthamerica.com - this option is only available to US residents. This is not only a way to donate to the Shadow Poets, but also to do something good for the environment. Inkjet and toner cartridges are filling the landfills in the US and elsewhere. Being plastic, these take many years to break down, and release toxins in the process. Recycle North America is a company that takes in used cartridges, as well as used, even broken, cell phones and either remanufactures those that can be reused, uses parts from some, or disposes of them in an ecologically sound manner. By signing up with them, they will send you collection boxes and return shipping labels, so that no costs are incurred by you. All you have to do is collect the items from you home, family, job, anywhere and send them in. For EACH cartridge or cell phone sent to Recycle North America, a donation is made to The Shadow Poets Society; you just need to choose that as your cause to support. All the instructions on collecting and sending items can be found on their site, as well as information on how to get even more people involved. (You may also send your ink/toner/ cell phones to the address below for recycling and the Shadow Poets will take care of it)

Merchandise from the Shadow Poets Cafepress store at:
The Shadow Poets Store
all proceeds beyond manufacturing the items go directly back into the Shadow Poets Society.

Of course, direct contributions are always welcome.
If you would like to send a contribution via postal mail, send it to:

If anyone wishes to participate in  creative writing/poetry workshops, we have created an interactive writing list and the Shadow Poets Society, a society for those that wish to test the writing waters.

The Shadow Poets list is open to join, however due to some unfortunate incidents membership will be approved with referal by current members only.
